Aldik's Disney Connection
The name given to Disney's Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse is Disneyodendron Exiums or "out of the ordinary Disney tree". It has 360,000 handmade leaves and over 130,000 blooms.
Aldik's founder Richard Gold created the mammoth tree along with the underwater seascapes for Disney's original Submarine ride.

Still Growing After All These Years Our Vision: Aldik is the innovative, world leader in trend-forward, floral-based home décor that captures nature’s beauty and stimulates the senses. We inspire our customers with our passion for design, visual interpretation and service exceeding their expectations at every level.
1951 — Hollywood, California. A small Aldik seed is planted as Richard Gold begins making vinyl flower arrangements to decorate television sets.
As the young company continued to grow, it caught the eye of Disney and was selected to create Disneyland’s famous Swiss Family Robinson Tree House and the underwater seascapes for the Submarine ride.
Roots were formed in the 1960’s, and Aldik began importing flowers from Hong Kong. More realistic products and materials were becoming available overseas.
In 1970, Aldik outgrew its Hollywood location and was replanted in Van Nuys, California. Richard Gold’s promising young son Larry joined the company in 1975. Aldik’s sales topped $1 million as the company once again outgrew its facilities and was replanted north in Valencia, California.
In the 1980’s, Larry Gold was appointed President (and later CEO) of Aldik and the once small flower company grew into a global leader.
In 1997, Aldik joined the Decorative Concepts family of companies and moved into its current headquarters, a sprawling corporate office and distribution center complex north of Los Angeles. It houses their exceptional customer care team, award winning design studios, and a 325,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution center.
In 2003, Mike Stadlberger, Aldik's Executive VP of Merchandising and a 20-year veteran of the permanent botanical industry took the spotlight. Like Larry Gold a few years earlier, Mike appeared on NBC’s Today Show exalting Aldik’s design trends and the virtues of permanent botanicals.
In 2007, Aldik Management, along with Encore Consumer Capital, reacquired Aldik from the Decorative Concepts family to again be an independent company. With, Mr. Larry Gold remaining as President and CEO, Aldik continues its path as a world leader in the industry.
Currently, Aldik continues to grow and remains the leader in floral-based decor. Aldik has showrooms in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong.
